GTU ITR College
The GTU – Institute of Technology and Research (GTU-ITR) is a semi-government college managed and controlled by Gujarat Technological University.[1][2][3] The college focuses on technical knowledge, skill development, and industry-oriented skills for engineering.
Overview
GTU-ITR works as a center fully dedicated to providing practical training, research, and skill improvement for diploma and degree students. The college collaborates with industry and training centers to offer domain-specific courses.[4]
Academic and training programs
The College offers degree courses and diploma courses in four different engineering branches:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Engineering [5]
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
The college also offers an Integrated MSc in Information Technology. It also offers a Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security (PGDCS).
The college offers skill development programs in three different centers of excellence (GTU-AIA Center, Siemens Center, and Anchor Institute).
GTU-AIA Foundry Skill Development Centre
History
- The center was inaugurated in January 2025.[6][7]
- It was formed by an MoU between AIA Industry and GTU.[8]
- It is founded under AIA Engineering Ltd's corporate social responsibility initiative.[9]
Location and affiliation
- The center is based at the GTU-ITR college, Mehsana, which is managed by GTU.[10]
- GTU-ITR provides infrastructure and a campus for the skill development center.
Training
- The center gives foundry practices training, which includes metal casting, mold making, furnace, quality control, safety, and maintenance.[9]
- Training is available for both diploma and degree students of mechanical, electrical, and metallurgy branches.[9]
Infrastructure and facilities
- The center is located at the GTU-ITR campus for conducting theoretical and practical training.[10]
Placements
For the first batch, six out of eight students were successfully placed in the AIA company.
For the second batch, eight out of ten students were successfully placed in the AIA Industry and other foundry companies. A highest package of 5.5 LPA[clarification needed] was achieved in the second batch.

Industry collaboration
GTU-ITR works with multiple industries for practical learning experience and hands-on training.[4]
Campus and facilities
The college provides technical labs, workshops, classrooms, seminar halls, and computer and software training labs.[4]
Placement (2022-2023)
Odoo India Pvt. Ltd., TCS, Yudiz Solutions, HKRP Technologies, Sarjen Systems, Bitscape, Acty System, Script All DNA, and PCB Plant are just a few of the top firms where the university's students have been placed. [11]
Electrical engineering students received ₹2.60 lakh annually (PCB Plant), while computer engineering students received the highest package of ₹5.00 lakh annually (Odoo India Pvt. Ltd.). The internships demonstrate the graduates' strong industry engagement and employability.
