Gajesh Naik (born 2007 or 2008) is an Indian software engineer and digital creator from Goa. He is known for developing PolyGaj and StableGaj, decentralized applications on the Polygon network.
Early life and education
Naik is based in Bambolim, Goa and currently is a student at People's High School in Panaji. At the age of 8, he began learning coding at a boot camp and has mastered coding languages like C, C++, Java, JavaScript, and Solidity.[1]
During COVID-19, he completed online certificate courses from University at Buffalo and State University of New York. According to his father, Naik also takes guidance from professors of MIT and Stanford University.[2]
Career
In 2018, Naik attended lectures at an international blockchain congress held in Goa in collaboration with the Government of Goa, which triggered his interest in blockchain technology. Ever since then, he has equipped himself with essential blockchain programming skills and languages. During the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Naik began creating educational content to provide assistance to primary school students from local schools due to physical classes being shut down. During this time, he had already begun learning chatbot development and blockchain technology applications.[1]
In 2021, he created PolyGaj, a cryptocurrency money managing ecosystem, and StableGaj on the Polygon network, both of which provide users access to crypto investing.[2] According to a Times of India report, PolyGaj is a decentralised finance
Naik participated in the "Hacker House" along with participants from MIT, Stanford University, Caltech, and other prominent engineering institutions. He also took part in the panel discussion on the subject "Building on Solana" at the Blockchain conference, which was also attended by former US president, Bill Clinton, and former UK prime minister, Tony Blair. Naik later joined 'Solana Labs' as an intern and will be reporting directly to Anatoly Yakovenko, CEO of Solana Labs.[3]
Achievements
On 4 August 2021, Naik was felicitated with a certificate of excellence at People's High School by Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology (MAIT) India chairman, Nitin Kunkolienkar.[4]
In May 2022, Naik participated in a Blockchain conclave at Nassau, The Bahamas, and on his arrival at his hometown, he was felicitated by Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte, who described Naik as an inspiration for other youth.[3]
