Abdulrahman Ibrahim Gambo Gujungu, popularly known as Gambo Gujungu is a Nigerian politician and activist. He is the founder and President of Arewa Youth Forum (AYF), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Kaduna State, Nigeria. He was born on 14 April 1972.[1]

Early life and education

Gambo Gujungu was born in Gujungu, a town in Taura Local Government, Jigawa State, on 14 April. He started his educational pursuit at Gujungu Central Primary School and Sabon Gari Primary School, Kaduna. He attended Rimi College for his secondary school education and later proceeded to Kaduna Polytechnic for a National Diploma in Cooperative Studies.

He also obtained an Advanced Diploma in Marketing and a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration (HND) in the same Kaduna Polytechnic. He was nominated and participated in the 2013 edition of the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) in the United States of America (USA).

He is also a graduate of the USA International Institute of Professional Exchange Program of the US government on the Impact of Change Makers on Social Entrepreneurship. [2]

Political career

Gambo Gujungu contested for the House of Representatives seat to represent Taura/Ringim federal constituency of Jigawa State under the People's Democratic Party (PDP), during the 2019 general election in Nigeria. He is now Special Assistant to Uba Sani, Kaduna State Governor, on Intergovernmental matters. [3]

Youth Advocacy

Gambo founded the Arewa Youth Forum (AYF) in 2006, a Non-Governmental Organization which is a not-for-profit umbrella platform for youth and sustainable development that spreads across Northern Nigeria. He was instrumental to Arewa Youth Forum getting recognition from the Embassy of the United States of America (USA), Abuja. Wherein in 2015 the forum implemented the Conflict Mitigation and Peace Building project (CMPB) in the 4 states of Kaduna, Bauchi, Nasarawa and Taraba. The program was the forum's noble contribution to the Federal and State Government efforts aimed at mitigating conflict at the communal level. [4]
