Rajesh P Barnwal (Hindi: राजेश पी बरनवाल) is an Indian computer scientist, presently working at AI and IoT Laboratory (Information Technology Group) of Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute(CSIR-CMERI)[2] (a constituent R&D institution under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-India)). He was formerly at Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CSIR-CIMFR)(2002-2006). As a senior research scientist at CSIR-India, he is also serving as an assistant professor (honorary) of Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) (2016-2020)[3].

Personal life[edit]

Barnwal born in coal capital of India, Dhanbad.[3] He did his schooling from Central Board of Secondary Education. He attended Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, where he received M.Tech. in Information technology and Ph.D. in Computer engineering[4]. His research interests include computational trust, participatory sensing, Internet of things, machine learning and cyber-physical systems.[3]

Career[edit]

Rajesh P Barnwal's initial research work of doctoral thesis got selected for inclusion in the 12th Inter-Research-Institute Student Seminar in Computer Science organized by ACM-India.[5].[6] He has an Erdős number of 4[7]. He is a listed guide for the fellow of Indian Academy of Sciences [8]. He is a life member of Internet Society and Institution of Engineers (India). He has served as member of editorial advisory board of an edited book volume on Cloud computing[9] and guest editor in SI of International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks [10].

Award[edit]

He has been awarded the Senior Member Award by Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) for his performance through technical leadership, and professional contributions in 2013.[11]
