Gary Grigsby's War in the East is a 2010 computer wargame developed by 2 by 3 Games and published by Slitherine Software, which acquired Matrix Games, the previous publisher of Gary Grigsby's series, in the same year.[1]
Development[edit]
Gary Grigsby's War in the East was released on Dec 7, 2010.[2]
Reception[edit]
Gary Grigsby's War in the East has received positive feedback, and was given a 90 in the April, 2011 release of PC Gamer, describing it as "An impressive accomplishment whose size and depth is a testament to wargaming's ability to bring history to life."[3]. When Matrix Games announced Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2[4], Jonathan Bolding of PC Gamer described both games as "...hugely ambitious games and shockingly successful games that let you control an entire front of the war from the operational level" and Gary Grigsby's magnum opus, while expecting War in the East 2 to be a maius opus, or "greater work". [5] It has a "generally favorable" user score of 8.4 according to users on Metacritic.
