Gaston Dorren is a Dutch linguist, journalist, and novelist. He was born in Valkenburg aan de Geul, Netherlands and currently resides in Amersfoort, Netherlands with his wife Marleen.[1] Dorren is a polyglot who is able to speak six different languages and read nine more.[2] Dorren has achieved a modicum of international success, with Lingo being translated and sold in 11 different countries and Babel being translated and sold in 12 different countries.[3] He has also developed an app called The Language Lovers Guide to Europe.[4]

Dorren wrote his most recent work, Babel, entirely in both English and Dutch himself.[5] The book was awarded the ANV language book prize by the language magazine Onze Taal in 2019.[6] His works have received positive reviews from publications such as Kirkus Reviews[7][8], The Guardian[9][10], The Wall Street Journal[11], and BBC[12]
