Gate of Nightmares (ゲートオブナイトメア) Is a fantasy-themed role-playing video game, developed and published by Square Enix in collaboration with Hiro Mashima, Jin Fujisawa and Yasuharu Takanashi.
Story[edit]
Set in Wistaria a world of swords and magic, and Lemurias a world that embodies the dreams of people. Since ancient times, there have been terrifying monsters in this world known as "Nightmares" that have taken shape and reflects the anxiety and fear hidden in people's hearts. Emma, a girl who became a "Nightwalker" and commands monsters born from bad dreams known as Nightmares, encounters Azel, a mysterious boy the Nightmares are fond of. Eventually, it continues on an epic adventure journey that she didn't even expect.

An adventurer Nightwalker who dreams of traveling the world. Ever since he met Emma in Remrias, the Forest of Spirits, they have began working together and started their own guild. He has a reckless and friendly personality and likes to help people. He has a constitution that makes it easily liked by Nightmares. Azel is partnered with a Fire Dragon-like Nightmare called Babydra. Azel shares the same name as the first Nightwalker, the "Hero of Dawn" who saved the world from the brink of extinction from Nightmares 70 prior. - Emma (エマ), Voiced by Lynn
A submaster of the Azel Guild. She has a serious and cautious personality, and is an indispensable restraint for the madcap Azel. While doing guild work, she attends the Academy of Magic and is busy every day. She admires Abigail, one of the Knights of the Seven Stars. Emma is partnered with a Fairy-like Nightmare called Ruu. - Meruru (メルル), Voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki
A girl with memory loss, with a white star magic stone. From the moment they first met in Remrias, she now lives in the Azel Guild. She has a gentle and somewhat natural personality, but is a hard worker who does her best in an emergency. - Oliver (オリバー), Voiced by Natsuki Hanae
A prince of the Kingdom of Estrea, who has both curiosity and action. It is important to judge everything with your own eyes and often, when you leave the royal palace, you observe and observe any changes in people's lives. She has a tendency to prioritize inquisitiveness over ethics, and is a little dangerous to be aware of it. She is not confident in her physical strength and is not very good at exercising. - Jasmine (シグマ), Voiced by Aya Yamane
Researcher of Insect Nightmare and Assistant of Barcellio. she loves insects from the bottom of her heart and loves being attacked by them. She's a weird person who stands out for her outlandish and free words and deeds, but her boss, Barcelio, is fine with it.

A special teacher at the Royal Palace Magic Academy. It is famous for having specially strict classes in the school, but it is strangely popular with students.
