Gayathri Shan is an Indian actress who works in Tamil and Malayalam films. She also acted played the titular role in the Sri Lankan Tamil television series Pavithra. She made her film debut in the 2019 Malayalam film Love Action Drama.
Early life
Gayathri was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, but her parents are from Tamil Nadu.[2][3]
Career
In Sri Lanka, Gayathri acted in many stage plays since her childhood. She is a Bharatanatyam dancer. She worked as an assistant accountant in Singapore. In 2015, she won the Sri Lankan national award for best television actress for Pavithra on Shakthi TV.[3][4] She became famous through Musical.ly and TikTok, in which she posted entertaining short-form videos, especially lip-sync videos. Because of her expression skills, her fans call her 'Expression Queen'.[2][5] She quit her job to pursue a career in the film industry.
After her film debut in Love Action Drama, Gayathri acted in Beast and Fire.[6][7] She also appeared in an album song "Muttakkanni".[8]
