Gazi Badrkhan Shawkat Zebari also simply known as Gazi B. Zibari (Kurdish: غازی زێباری) is a Kurdish-American professor of surgery and transplantation. Dr. Zibari is director of John C McDonald Regional Transplant Center, & Advanced Surgery Ctr, WKHS. Recently,[when?] he was appointed as Academic Chairman of Dept of Surgery and Director of newly established General Surgery Residency Program, WKHS.
Biography
Dr. Zibari was born to a Kurdish family in Aqrah, a city of Duhok Governorate, Iraq and grew up in United States. He has been living in the United States since May 1, 1976 and has been doing humanitarian medical outreach work in Kurdistan of Iraq since the 1st Gulf War (1992).
He has received several awards over the years including the Ellis Island Medal, Alpha Omega Alpha.
