Gears of War 6 is an upcoming third-person shooter video game developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is the sixth main installment of the Gears of War series and the sequel to Gears 5.
Development[edit]
According to Jes Corden, a new game was in development with a possible release in 2024 to 2025.[1] The game started development well after the development of Gears 5, and was in production by 2023. [2]
In May 2021, the Coalition announced that any future projects will use Unreal Engine 5.[3] In late 2022, a Microsoft job posting was searching for a technican for mocap in the Gears franchise in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[4][5] Xbox insider Nick Backer reavealed on the Xbox era podcast that the game could close to an open world game.[6]
