Geir Ness (born February 8, 1970) is a Norwegian perfume designer, entrepreneur, and humanitarian.[1] He is the designer and creator of the perfume Laila (pronounced Lila).
Biography[edit]
In 1992, Ness started his career as an actor in Los Angeles.[2]
In 1994, he created Laila, a Norwegian fragrance. He developed interest to perfume industry when he started promoting perfumes when he was still in school. Years later, he started his research to develop his own perfume line.
In 1999, he staged a publicity event with his fellow students in acting school that lands him his first order of 1,000 bottles of perfume.[1]
In 1999, he started selling Laila in Nordstrom. [1]
In 2008, he started attending Golden Globes as one of the guests, and his life story and journey was featured on a Norway’s morning show “Good Morning, Norway”, and on a primetime television network. A feature film about his life story is also in the works.
In 2009, he started selling in Disney merchandise store. [1]
In 2009, Ness has also become a motivational speaker and speaks at schools and seminars throughout the USA and Europe to bring awareness to child education and cancer.

In 1994, Ness started his Laila Perfume Company,[3] and was named after his mother as a tribute.[4]

In May 2009, Ness published his first pocket book, “Letters from a Son to his Mother”, which he dedicated to his mom. The book is about his love, dedication and appreciation for his mom.
