Geir Ness (born February 8, 1970) is a Norwegian perfume designer, entrepreneur, and humanitarian.[1] He is the designer and creator of the perfume Laila (pronounced Lila).
Biography
In 1992, Ness started his career as an actor in Los Angeles.[2]
In 1994, he created Laila, a Norwegian fragrance. He developed an interest in the perfume industry when he started promoting perfumes while still in school. Years later, he began researching to develop his own perfume line.
In 1999, he staged a publicity event with his fellow acting school students that landed him his first order of 1,000 bottles of perfume.[1]
In 1999, he started selling Laila in Nordstrom. [1]
In 2008, he began attending the Golden Globes as a guest, and his life story and journey were featured on Norway’s morning show “Good Morning, Norway”, and on a primetime television network. A feature film about his life story is also in the works.
In 2009, he started selling in Disney merchandise stores. [1]
In 2009, Ness also became a motivational speaker and spoke at schools and seminars throughout the USA and Europe to raise awareness of child education and cancer.

Perfume Designer
In 1994, Ness started his Laila Perfume Company,[3] and it was named after his mother as a tribute.[4]
Author
In May 2009, Ness published his first pocket book, “Letters from a Son to his Mother”, which he dedicated to his mother. The book is about his love, dedication, and appreciation for his mother.
