Gelato, also known as Larry Bird, is a hybrid marijuana strain.[1] Gelato was named after the dessert, Gelato, because it is described as having a fruity taste and smell.[2]

Gelato has been said to be one of the strongest cannabis strains in the article "Strain of the Day: 5 things to know about Gelato, one of the strongest cannabis strains" written by Anisha Dhiman on March 5, 2020, and was also said to be one of the most searched cannabis strains in 2019 in the same article.[3]
The hybrid strain has been recognized in the Chicago Sun-Times article "Here are 5 of the best marijuana strains in Illinois" written by Tom Schuba on August 5, 2019.[4]
This strain was also recognized in the Legal Reader in the article "These Are the 3 Best Cannabis Strains of 2020!" written by Granit Mustafa on August 17, 2020.[5]

A rapper, singer, and songwriter who goes by Aminé wrote a song about the stain which he called "Gelato", in reference to the cannabis, on the album Limbo.[6]
