Genadius Domestik

Genadius Domestik also known as Genadije Svetogorac (15th century) was a Serbian monk scribe at Hilandar.[1] In the 1470s he composed the "Office for the feast of Peter the Athonite"[2] with a Slavonian acrostic and copied an earlier translation of the "Life of Peter the Athonite" (preserved at Hilandar, Code 463).[3]Also referred to as Miscellany (Hilandar, Code 463) actually originated from the second half of the fifteenth century. It included the only known copy of a work by Serbian hieromonk called Genadije Svetogorac or Genadije Domestik (from the Greek word domestikos) as he liked to refer to himself in his work. Genadius dedicated the work to Peter the Athonite, as well as the original "Life of Isaija the Monk".[4]
