Geographic Technologies Group (often referred to as GTG) is a company specializing in consulting on and implementing GIS technology for local government agencies. The team at GTG helps identify GIS needs of an organization and works to deliver solutions via custom software and applications, both internal and public-facing. They've created multiple business lines to showcase their specialties in Public Safety, Parks and Recreation, Public Works and Utilities, Fiber Network and Telecommunications, and GIS Strategic Planning.

This corporation is an Esri Gold Partner with three Specialties: Release Ready, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS for Local Government. They deliver GIS Strategic Implementation Plans, custom software solutions, and mobile applications. GTG has more than 700 clients around the world.[1]

GTG was founded in July of 1997 by Curtis Hinton and David Holdstock. Curt Hinton is acting President while David Holdstock is the designated CEO of the corporation.[2] Their primary office is located in North Carolina with smaller branches in Idaho, Texas, and California.[2]

Solutions[edit]

GTG's solutions refer to their custom suites of software products and GIS services. They are broken down by business line to provide focused support for government agencies and their staff.

GreenCityGIS[edit]

This is a software and service suite for parks and recreation agencies, tree management and arborist, natural resources, environmental and conservation agencies.

UtilityCityGIS[edit]

This is a software and service suite for public works and utility organizations including electric, transportation, engineering, water, sewer, and storm water.

SafeCityGIS[edit]

This is a software and service suite for public safety departments[3], including fire, EMS, police, EOC, code enforcement agencies, animal control, and communication centers and dispatch.

FiberCityGIS[edit]

This is a software and service suite for telecommunications companies and government fiber management divisions.

GISPlan[edit]

This product line encompasses GTG's GIS Strategic Planning services for all organizations, but is specifically focused on local government.

CommunityCityGIS[edit]

This is a software and service suite focused on supporting economic development, planning, and public administration. Areas of focus include tax assessors, planning and zoning, executive management, building and inspections, finance departments, housing departments, community and economic development, libraries, schools, and public health.
