Geometric Lullaby is a vaporwave record label based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. The label was founded by Dennis Mikula in 2018 and specializes in high quality physical releases of vaporwave, ambient, and experimental artists. Every cassette released by the label is packaged with stickers, tarot cards, Japanese style OBI strips, and a storage sleeve.

History

Geometric Lullaby was founded in Iowa, US in 2018 after founder and Ghost Bath frontman Dennis Mikula discovered vaporwave through a YouTube recommendation of Macintosh Plus' Floral Shoppe. After diving deeper into the genre, Mikula created the label as a way to consolidate his personal vaporwave aliases, but eventually turned it into a way to provide physical releases to digital-only releases that he enjoyed and artists that he wanted new material from.

In an interview with Pad Chennington, Mikula mentioned that having been a collector before starting the label helped him in terms of making sure presentation, production, shipping time, and customer service were of the highest possible quality, with the end goal being that the releases are "something for [customers] to be proud to own." The first releases on the label were from Electric Specter 電妖怪, one of Mikula's many aliases, with all releases following a standard: all music put out by the label would be music he "personally loves and would buy [him]self."

Every artist featured on Geometric Lullaby adheres to this ideology and is just as unique as the last. One such artist, w i n t e r q u i l t, has been described as "fascinating ... bewildering, enjoyable, and cathartic" with their blending of symphonic black metal and vaporwave elements. Another mysterious artist under the alias of b e g o t t e n 自杀 has released several albums on the label. They had sent an email to the label claiming to be from Azerbaijan, which caught the eye of Dennis because they had sent him six full albums "with each release to go live on Halloween for every year going forward until 2022." The genre, dubbed "hushwave" by the artist, would go on to match the qualities of old-school vaporwave. Many artists that have released on Geometric Lullaby are also well-known in the scene, such as Death's Dynamic Shroud, Nmesh, desert sand feels warm at night, and Angel Marcloid, and would join the roster of events such as George Clanton's ElectroniCON.

Geometric Lullaby would go on to curate 70 unique releases in its main catalog from 2018 to 2020, as well as many vinyl pressings throughout the years (labeled as the "SP Series"), eventually catching the eye of Bandcamp itself with the pressing of desert sand feels warm at night's 夜道. Another release from desert sand feels warm at night was the first Geometric Lullaby release to surpass 1 million views on YouTube. The SP releases are mastered by another prominent vaporwave producer, Angel Marcloid (better known as Fire-Toolz), via Angel Hair Audio. A new series, titled the "Artist Discovery Series," began its run in 2022.

猫 シ Corp. has been a frequent collaborator with the label, releasing pressings of their album News at 11, the first vinyl pressing of their album Palm Mall both on Geometric Lullaby and on PLUS100 Records, as well as pressings of two back-catalog releases, [지오 프론트] v3​.​1 and A class in​​​...CRYPTO CURRENCY.

Nmesh's album Pharma, originally released on Orange Milk Records with art by label owner Keith Rankin, was pressed to vinyl by Geometric Lullaby in 2020. This album had gained notoriety over the years thanks to its sample-heavy eccojam style of production, taking the listener through the artist's childhood memories and consciousness, and soon garnered the attention of many news outlets and Mikula, resulting in vinyl pressings being organized. Nmesh's 28-track collection Further Regions: 20 Years of Exploration was among one of the many vinyl pressings from the label.

Telepath (stylized as t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者) has also collaborated with Geometric Lullaby with the release of their albums アンタラ通信 (translates to Antara Communications) and 現実を超えて (translates to Beyond Reality), the former having been initially released by Dream Catalogue. These reissues were welcomed by fans, as an official repress of either had not happened for several years.
