George N. Olcott
George N. Olcott (September 19, 1869 Brooklyn, New York - March 2, 1913) was an American classicist and university teacher.
He graduated from Columbia University with a BA in 1893.[1] He received a prize in Classical studies and Archaeology from the American Academy in Rome in 1899.[2]
Career and employment
Olcott was associated with Columbia University as student and professor for fifteen years. At Columbia, he was employed as Lecturer (1898-1904), Assistant Professor (1901-4), and Professor (1905-13).[3][4]
Fellowships, honours, and awards
Olcott was Fellow at Columbia University in 1894-96 and was awarded a Drisler Travelling Fellowship in 1896-97.
