George Valentine II
George Henry Valentine II (born December 2, 1988) is an American professional basketball player for La Liga Argentina de Basquetbol . He played college basketball for Winthrop University in South Carolina from 2007-2012.
Early Life[edit]
Valentine was raised in a military family, living in Tennessee and Hawaii before settling in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Valentine comes from a family of avid sports lovers who always involved him in sports. He played American Football, Baseball and Basketball. Ultimately, giving up each for his passion of basketball. Valentine played Amateur Athletic Union basketball and basketball at Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina
College Career[edit]
Valentine attended Winthrop University in South Carolina on a full basketball scholarship. In his senior year he stood at 6'8 and 235 pounds[1]. Valentine averaged 8.4points, 7.9 rebounds[2], 1 block, 1 steal, with a field goal average of 58%. He was the third leading scorer for the Winthrop Eagles men's basketball team from 2011-2012.
He graduated with a bachelors degree in Sports Management, minoring in Marketing.
Professional Career[edit]
In 2012, Valentine signed a deal with UMF Tindastóll in Iceland where he averaged 16.5 points and 10 rebounds[3]. Valentine continued his professional career as starting five with Swans Gmunden in Austria, BK Levickí Patrioti in Slovakia, Umeå BBK in Sweden and Club Atletico Talleres de Tafi Viejo in Argentina. He currently plays for Club Hindu of La Liga Argentina de Básquet in Argentina.[4] He is represented by Jan Wieland of Blacktop Management
