George Vending

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

George "Vending" Charleston, was born in Pasadena, MD on March 17, 1983, and died October 19, 2001. George was an above average Chesapeake High student, who planned to go to Salisbury State College, off of the $2,000 academic scholarship offered to him because of his performance in the 2001 Lacrosse State Championship. According to his family, he worked labor jobs for his neighbors and was well liked by his friends and community. George Charleston was given his odd nickname, "Vending" by his close friends who said he would always get his lunch by buying drinks and snacks out of the vending machines.

Charleston was born into a middle class family; his mother was an accountant and his father was a soldier, so most of Charleston's early life was spent moving from state to state, until his father was stationed in Afghanistan for the United States' invasion of Afghanistan. Soon after his stationing, Charleston and his mother moved back to his childhood home in Pasadena. On October 9th, 2001, Charleston's father was killed in action by an improvised explosive device.

Shortly after his father’s death, Charleston allegedly cut contact with most of his friends and started having violent outbursts in school, having been suspended for 3 days as a result of one such outburst involving 2 other Chesapeake High students. After his suspension, he continued to have violent outbursts in school, which led to a decline in academic performance. On October 19, 2001, according to an eyewitness who desires to stay anonymous, stated how Charleston went to get his lunch from the vending machine, as usual, and after the machine did not dispense his food, he began to violently shake the machine until it tipped over and fell onto him, crushing him and knocking him unconscious. He later died from his injuries in Johns Hopkins Hospital. His family requested that his picture not be used in any news or media.

Charleston's close-casket funeral was attended by close friends and family, and a remembrance for him was held at the school. There is a rumor circulating that he now haunts the school's vending machines and takes people's money without dispensing their food or drink.
