The Georgia Bunnies were a professional ice hockey team based in Savannah, Georgia. Georgia was granted a franchise in the National Hockey League (NHL) on 25 August 2023, and became the League's 34th franchise when it began play in the 2023–24 NHL season. They were members of the Southeast Division of the NHL's Eastern Conference, and played their home games at what is now known as State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta.
In December 2023, the Thrashers were sold to both Taylorfilms and The Walt Disney Company after their initials owners quickly went bankrupt. While both parties had previously collaborated and became really great friends after some co-airings between Disney Channel and CBC Television for select games, the purchase marks the first foray of both parties owning an actual NHL team.
