GetGo is a Singaporean company providing car sharing services. Launched in 2021, it is currently the largest carsharing company in Singapore.[1]
History
GetGo was launched with an initial fleet of 400 cars from Lion City Rentals, a company formerly owned by Uber.[2] It attracted 14,000 users in it's pre-launched registration, and over 20,000 users within its first two months of operation.[3]
In 2023, GetGo raised S$20 million in a funding round led by family-backed investment firm Treis Group. This funding was announced on February 23, with the primary goal of accelerating the expansion of GetGo's electric fleet and strengthening its technology and operations.[4]
Currently GetGo has a fleet size of over 3000 vehicles, in 1600+ locations around Singapore.[5]
Services
GetGo offers a "point A to A" car-sharing platform that allows users to drive vehicles on a pay-as-you-go basis. The service was designed to cater to those who desire the freedom to drive without the financial burden of owning a car.
GetGo's model has proved to be particularly appealing in the inflationary environment of Singapore, where the costs associated with car ownership, such as fuel, insurance, and the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) quota system, have been rising.[6]
