Ghana Basic School Education Curriculum

The Ghana education system at the basic level consists of a two-year Pre-school, a six-year Primary School and a three-year junior Secondary School(2-6-3).[1]

Subjects Studied[edit]

There are various subjects studied at each level in the education system. At the Pre-school level attention is drawn to 4 main subjects, while at the primary level focus is driven at 6 main subject areas and 9 subjects areas with 3 optional subjects at the Junior High School Level.

Examination Taken[edit]

At the end of the aforementioned levels of education one is required to sit the Basic Education Certificate Examination to ensure selection into the Senior High School/Technical Institute.[2]
