Ghana Teacher Prize

The Ghana Teacher Prize^[1] which used to be called the national best teacher award is instituted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the ministry of Education to reward hard working and performing teachers in the service. This is now being managed by the Ghana National Teaching Council^[2]. Nominations start at the District Level, then moves to Regional and then National^[3].

The Ghana Teacher Price (The National Best Teacher Award Scheme) was started in October 1994^[4] by the then Minister of Education Harry Sawyerr aka Henry Romulus Sawyerr.
