Ghoulies II is an American 1987 horror comedy film directed by Albert Band and written by Dennis Paoli and is the sequel to the 1985 film Ghoulies. The film stars Damon Martin, Royal Dano, Phil Fondacaro, J. Downing, and Kerry Remsen.[1]
Synopsis[edit]
Boarding a traveling carnival known as Satan's Den, the ghoulies begin attacking the patrons at their most recent stop.

Production[edit]
Following the success of Ghoulies, producer Charles Band quickly pitched a sequel where the creatures would take over a circus.[2] Filming of Ghoulies II took place in Rome, Italy.[3] The film marks filmmaker Albert Band's first and only directorial under the Empire Pictures banner.[4]
Release[edit]
Ghoulies II debuted at Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 31, 1987, by Empire Pictures, being the only Ghoulies sequel to receive a theatrical release.
Home media[edit]
The film released on VHS on October 5, 1988, by Vestron Video. On April 21, 2015, a blu-ray containing Ghoulies and Ghoulies II was released by Scream Factory.[5]
Reception[edit]
On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, Ghoulies II holds an approval rating of 14% based on seven reviews, with an average rating of 4/10.[6]
Sequel[edit]
In 1991, a sequel, entitled Ghoulies Go to College, was released direct to video by Vestron Video and directed by John Carl Buechler, the series' creature designer.
