GIGYCUBE is a hyper-casual mobile game for Android that was released in November 2020 for Google Play. The game was developed and published by Astrotale Games, an indie game studio from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Gameplay
The game takes place on a platform of cubes in various colors that form fields. The player controls the main cube, which is in one of the colors of the fields on the platform. The player should cross all the fields in the color of the main cube without returning to the previous field. When the player crosses the main cube over all the fields in the same color as the main cube, the crossed fields become neutral and the main cube changes color to the color of the remaining fields. When the player solves all the colors, he crosses the level and the game randomly creates a new platform and a new level!
Development
The idea that led to the creation of GIGYCUBE arose from the idea that one of the Team Members had. Astrotale decided to form something completely new from that idea and bring its projects to a higher level than before. The creation of GIGYCUBE took about 2 months, and finally in November 2020, Astrotale embarked on releasing GIGYCUBE on Google Play. The game was released on November 16 for the US market only and was not initially available worldwide. After 7 days, GIGYCUBE was available worldwide and it's still on Google Play.
Reception
After the release, GIGYCUBE received positive comments and feedback, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and managed to score 4.8 on Google Play. Astrotale Games achieved the desired success, and GIGYCUBE was a precursor to their next projects they are currently working on.
