Compositions: Gina's stylistic dexterity and familiarity with classical, contemporary, and popular idioms has facilitated the crafting of compositions that resonate with Australia's rich multicultural environment. She takes pleasure in conversations between Baroque, Spanish and Arabian music. She also contributes to Australian Jazz in her compositions.

Gina's recent compositions, published individually by Wirripang in its Australian Composers series, include folio covers made from photographs of her paintings (except in the case of Toccatina Aventura): • Chillin' in Lockdown • Skittish in Lockdown • Sense and Insouciance • The BaroQ Bear and the Middle Eastern Princess • The Baroque Bear at the Arabian Wedding Party • The Christmas Elves Dance with the First Snowflakes • The Heavy Rock Metal Dancer meet the BaroQ Bear • The Sassy Waitress on the Caribbean Cruise • The Surreptitiously Astute Stoat and the Cat • Toccatina Avventura

Many of Gina's works are preserved in the National Library of Australia.[1]

Gina is an artist who paints in acrylics, pastels and oils

Her piano piece The Loping Grimmolow was recently selected to be included in the Australian Women Composers’ Piano Anthology - Volume III.[2]

Wirripang has also published performances of some works on YouTube.[3][4] La Toccata Euforica is published by J.W. Pepper.[5]

Background: As first prize for winning a Tchaikovsky piano competition in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Gina won a scholarship to attend the prestigious Moscow Conservatory of Music. A conflicting family diplomatic appointment to Washington DC took her to the United States instead. She has performed in Washington DC as well as in Australia, Germany, India and Sri Lanka. Gina is also the author of Public Postures, Private Positions - an ethnomusicological discussion of a hybrid cultural form of Afro-Lusitanian music, based on her doctoral thesis.[6]

Gina conducted a series of interviews on videotape with Australian composer Miriam Hyde. One of these is on youtube.com.[7]
