Gina Castanzo, who goes by stage name Gina Zo, is a singer-songwriter from West Chester, Pennsylvania. Castanzo competed on Season 10 of the NBC’s singing competition, The Voice.

Background

Castanzo was born on July 28, 1997, in West Chester, Pennsylvania[1][unreliable source?] to Paul and Lisa Castanzo. Castanzo has 3 brothers, Alex, Tyler, and Cameron, and a stepmother, Jill. She began playing guitar at age 14. She continued with her musical interest by participating in summer stage theater programs.
Castanzo attended Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.[2] During that time, she began taking voice lessons and performing musical theater, participating in shows such as Cinderella, The Sound of Music, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Wizard of Oz, and Seussical. Participating in these school activities made Gina want to pursue music, so her mother encouraged her to go to an open call for The Voice.

The Voice

On March 7, 2016, Castanzo's blind audition for season 10 of The Voice premiered. She performed Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness’s song "Cecilia and the Satellite" and turned the chair of coach, Blake Shelton. On March 22 (Episode 9), Castanzo performed Madonna’s "Borderline" against contestant Peyton Parker and was eliminated.
