Giovanni Emmanuel Uribe

Giovanni Emmanuel Uribe, (born February 17, 1984) is a Mexican universal visual artist and poet.[1]

During 2009-2013 he studied at York University in Toronto, Ontario, where he earned his BA (Hons). At York University he met the Canadian art critic Ken Carpenter who introduce him to the Czech-Canadian abstract painter Joseph Drapell. For three years Uribe was Drapell's assistant.[2] Drapell taught him, his compression technique, which he developed at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan in 1969.[3]

Uribe is the creator of the art movement named Cosmic Transfiguration. Cosmic Transfiguration is a contemporary art movement that explores the intersection between the human unconscious, the vastness of the universe, and the evolving nature of consciousness. Uribe currently studies Maya epigraphy under the guidance of archaeologist and epigrapher Eduardo Puga Salazar at the Autonomous University of Yucatán [4]

In September 2025, he will participate in the Maya Festival to be held at San Francisco City College, where his work will continue to explore the intersections between ancient knowledge and contemporary artistic expression.[5]
