Giovanni Galli is a Portuguese company dedicated exclusively to the production of men's apparel. Founded in 1992, Giovanni Galli belongs to Unifato Group, a company with 100% Portuguese equity, which employs about 850 direct employees. At the present moment (2014), the brand has more than 60 stores around the world and continues its international expansion with the opening of new stores each year.

The year 1992 marks the appearance of the brand Giovanni Galli in the Portuguese market, through the company Vasconcelos & Gonçalves, which has been linked to the apparel industry since 1976. This company belongs to the Unifato Group, which is held solemnly by Portuguese equity and employs about 850 direct employs nowadays.[1]

Portugal[edit]

The first Giovanni Galli stores opened in the Portuguese capital in 1992, namely in Amoreiras, Avenida da Igreja, Portela and in Amadora.[2]

Between 1994 and 2001, the number of stores increased substantially as the brand opened four stores in strategic locations in Lisboa and spread its presence along Portugal, reaching cities such as: Gaia; Santarém; Caldas da Rainha; Torres Vedras; Setúbal; and, Guia. During this period, the brand also opened stores in the two Portuguese archipelogos: Azores and Madeira. Between 2002 and 2010, Giovanni Galli reinforced its national presence from north to south with more openings.

International Expansion[edit]

The internationalization of the brand boosted up after 10 years in Unifato Group with openings in Qatar, Slovenia, Lebanon and Egypt.[3][4]

In the followings years (between 2012 and 2014), the brand saw its presence in Georgia, Macedonia, Iran and Kazakhstan.[5]

Outlets[edit]

The first outlet opened by Giovanni Galli date December 2000 in the city of Cascais. Other outlet stores were opened during 2004 and 2010 in the disctricts of Lisbon and Porto.

Online Store[edit]

In 2013, the brand invested in an online marketplace for the Portuguese and European market.[6] Spain, Germany and the UK where the first European countries to receive the opportunity to buy the brand through the internet. Moreover, the brand has expanded the online marketplace for Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Italy, Monaco and the Netherlands.
