Global Transport Investments (GTI) is an international transport holding founded in Odessa, Ukraine in 1992. GTI consists of legally registered companies, affiliates, representative offices, and trademarks. The company operates in 14 countries worldwide, such as Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Japan, India, etc.[1]

The holding appeared in 1992 in the form of the Formag Forwarding company (an abbreviated form of “ForwardMarineAgency”).[2]

That same year, «Formag» made an agreement with the BULCON line, a container division of the national navigable company of Bulgaria Navibulgar. The company’s second agency agreement was concluded with a Greek shipping line «Blue Container Line». The third principal became a Chinese shipping company COSCO. Formag also became an agent of another Chinese state container line China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL).

Further, in different years, the companies of the holding became agents of global container lines:

In January 2007, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine gave permission to the “Global Transport Investments” company (Odessa) to buy more than 50% of the companies “Formag”, “Formag Agencies”, “Transferra Logistics Ltd.”, “Silk Route Shipping”, and “Equinox” (all based in Odessa).[3]
