Gokuism (also known as the Church of Goku) is a newly emerging religion and parody religion and new religious movement that is based on the moral example of the protagonist in the Dragon Ball series: Goku. It is not an officially recognised religion, but rather a shared creation of fans on the internet.[1]\[2] Rather than "Gokuists" taking Gokuism as a serious religion, they treat it as, in some cases, a tongue-in-cheek joke religion, or commonly as viewing Gokuism as a joke religion but viewing it and Goku as an ideal role model. Gokuism can also be viewed as being a religion based on the Dragon Ball series, making it a polytheistic religion, mainly worshiping Goku, featuring deities, demons, an (in-world) belief system and an afterlife, viewing the Dragon Ball series as legends and mythology.
Goku
As mentioned before, Gokuism is the religious and parody religious belief based on the Dragon Ball series, as well as being based upon the moral example of Goku, viewing him as an ideal role model. Goku is viewed as the key and main deity admired in Gokuism, being viewed as a "saviour" and "righteous".[3]
