Gold Rush: The Game is a gold mining simulator game, under Discovery Gold Rush TV Series license. It was developed by Code Horizon. Gold Rush: The Game was released for the Microsoft Windows operating system in October 13, 2017. The game allows players to set up their gold mining operation, use industry-specific machines and vehicles, and rent or purchase new claims.[1]

Gameplay[edit]

Gold Rush: The Game is a singleplayer gold mining simulation game, in which player becomes a rookie gold miner, who sets up their gold mining operation from scratch. Starting with the basic equipment, including pan and basket, players advance from Tier 1 to upper Tiers. With more money, it is possible to purchase new heavy machines, including excavators, front-end loaders, bulldozers, or dump trucks, as well as more advanced equipment like magnetite separator, wash table, or wash plant.[2]

The game offers four different gold claims with deformable terrains set in Alaska inspired world. Players can travel through the map with a pickup truck, which can be equipped with items purchased at a local Warehouse in town. There are also other services in town, such as the Blacksmith, who can melt the gold and make gold bars. the Bank, where players can get loans, rent claims, or purchase them. the Heave Machines Store, which allows purchasing heavy machinery or vehicles in different lacquer variants and more.[3][4][1]

Kickstarter[edit]

Gold Rush: The Game has been funded on Kickstarter. More than 5,000 backers pledged a total of CA$ 121,473 to bring the game to life.[5] A total of 9 Goals have been funded: Delivering enhanced version of the Game, Valley, Bulldozer, Gameplay affected by atmospheric conditions, Canyon, Bigger Excavator, Console versions, Dump Truck, and D-Rocker wash plant.

Reviews[edit]

The game received a 7.5 community score on KeenGamer[6] and overall of 62% positive reviews on Steam Store.[7] It has earned a gamerscore of 6.61 on whatoplay based on 6.17K user reviews.[8]
