The course is managed by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and the San Francisco Disc Golf Club.[2]

Layout[edit]
The tightly wooded course begins in Marx Meadow and runs in a loop between Marx Meadow Drive, Fulton Street, and 30th Avenue for the first nine holes. These holes are commonly referred to as the front nine. The final nine holes, or back nine, play between Crossover Drive and Lloyd Lake to the south and west of Marx Meadow. Each hole has up to four basket placements with the placement changing on a near-weekly basis. Holes range from 185 feet to 400 feet in distance. The course is well known for its technicality and natural appeal. Wildlife in the park includes trees introduced by Golden Gate Park's original superintendent John McLaren, mostly Eucalyptus globulus, Monterey pine, and Monterey cypress.
