Golden State Peace Officers Association

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Golden State Peace Officers Association formed in 1985 to represent gay police, sheriffs' and support personnel in the State of California. The group informally started in 1980 and eventually incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1985.[1]

As was reported:

"Most gay cops mask their sexual preference, and the association respects their need to. Bylaws prevent release of information about the association membership, so its officers won't even say how many members there are."[1]

It was reported that approximately 40 members attended the then most recent Palm Springs gathering of the Association.[1]
