Good American is an American clothing company that sells women's clothing, swimwear, shoes and accessories, with a focus on inclusive sizing.[1]
History[edit]
Good American was founded by Emma Grede and Khloé Kardashian and launched on October 18, 2016,[2][3] with Grede as CEO.[4] The jeans were made from European fabrics and designed, cut, sewn and washed in Los Angeles.[2] At launch, the jeans were sold on the brand's website and at Nordstrom,[3] and the label sold $1 million in jeans on the first day. The brand was launched to address the lack of sizing options in women's clothing.[1][2]
Products[edit]
They sell jeans in sizes 00 to 24.[5] Their ads feature women of all shapes, sizes, races, and backgrounds, and the company employs an open casting model.[6][7]
In September 2018, the company announced that they had created a new size, 15.[1] They were the first to develop the size, in an effort to bridge the gap between straight and plus sizes.[7][8] In 2019, they launched a sizing tool, which features photos of products on 15 different models, from sizes 00 to 24, to help online customers find the right fit.[9]
The brand started with jeans before expanding to activewear, dresses, jumpsuits, tops, shoes, swimwear, and a maternity collection.[6][10][11] In 2020, Good American put out a "one-size-fits-four" denim jean called Always Fits, designed to adapt to normal weight fluctuation in women, available in sizes 00-32+.[12] Other lines include their loungewear collection Good Sweat,[12] and their Neon collection of activewear and swimwear.[10] In December 2020, they launched their first shoe collection, featuring sandals, pumps, mules, booties, and thigh-high boots. The sizing goes from 4 to 14, in standard and extended widths.[13]
