Gorik Khachatryan (Armenian: Գորիկ Խաչատրյան), is an Armenian professional football defender, who currently plays for FC Gandzasar Kapan of the Armenian Premier League.[1] He is known for his physical strength among the dfeneders of the Armenian Premier League.[2]
Club career[edit]
Khachatryan started his professional career in 2006 with FC Pyunik without getting the chance to be included in the starting lineup. In 2007, he move to Ulisses FC where he spent 2 years and achieved bronze medals with his team at the 2009 Armenian Premier League season.
After spending a single season at Impulse FC, Khachatryan moved to Ararat Yerevan in 2011. Since then, he became a regular player at the starting lineup of the team. He captained the team during 2013 and 2014. Currently he is the vice-captain of Ararat Yerevan.[3]
By the beginning of the 2014–15 Armenian Premier League season, Khachatryan was briefly left out of the Ararat Yerevan squad due to some disagreements with then-manager Dušan Mijić.[4] After releasing Mijić from his position, Khachatryan was invited back to the team by the newly-appointed manager Suren Chakhalyan.[5]
