Govardhan Vigraham is a Visual effects designer and supervisor in the Bollywood film industry.

He started his career in 1992, when he joined Z-Axis, as a 3D generalist. In 1995, he became the head of Film effects at Crest Communications Ltd (formerly Z-Axis). He later held the following positions in different facilities:

  • Visual Effects Director, CMM Studios
  • Visual Effects Supervisor, Prime Focus
  • VFX Producer/Supervisor, Tata Elxsi VCL
  • Executive Producer, VFX, EFX Prasad Digital

Some of his feature films include Kaminey, Drona, God Tussi Great Ho, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Phir Hera Pheri, Vaah Life Ho Toh Aisi, Gadar, Pukar, Maa Tujhe Salaam, Ghajini, Bicchu, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Jeet, Judwa, Kya Kehna, also regional films including The Godfather, Jaggubhai, Andhari Vaadu, and Pournami.

He currently works independently as a visual effects designer and supervisor. Some of his films are Regional – Aadhavan, Manmadan Ambu. Marathi film Zapatlele 2. Hindi – 7 Khoon Maaf, Cocktail, Matru ki bijlee ka Mandola, Ek Thi Daayan, Haider, Fitoor, Mohenjo Daro, Rangoon. Additionally, in Haider he was the Second Unit Director.

Awards

He won a Filmfare Best VFX Award (2010) for his work in Kaminey,[1] and a National Film Award for Best Special Effects for his work in Mumbai Meri Jaan.
