Govind Milk
Govind Milk and Milk Products Pvt. Ltd established two decades back, with an intention to help the farmers since the Milk Federation could not provide adequate support to the dairy farmers, has emerged as a renowned, quality conscious company for milk and milk products in the state of Maharashtra and adjoining states. Govind supplies skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, ghee to whole of the country in the retail markets and also as an ingredient to major parts of India and International manufacturer of milk products. In the recent past they won contracts to supply ghee to Tirupati Balaji temple used for preparing prasadam for the devotees.[1]

The foundation of this renowned dairy was laid to give the farmers a respite from the unruly collection system of milk. The politics involved in the collection system of milk which, overlooked the interest of poor farmers without any fair business practices.
These depressed farmers approached the Founder Chairman, Mr. Sanjeevraje Naik Nimbalkar seeking a solution to the ever growing menace of milk collection system of milk. Thus was born Govind Milk on August 21, 1995 to benefit farmers and the society as a whole.
From 80 litres initially to a collection of few hundred litres, Govind Dairy had to encounter many problems. Lack of skilled manpower and absence of a proper distribution/collection system for milk were few of them. Undeterred with these obstacles, every member of Govind Milk and Milk Products decided to fight and they finally emerged as winners. Sighting their sheer perseverance and quality consciousness, Cadbury India became their first major client and boosted the much needed confidence in the early days of Govind Milk.
Sanjeevraje & Shivanjaliraje Nimbalkar, G.M. Dhumal, along with many committed team members put in their heart and soul, working round the clock to make this dream a success story. This was possible for they embraced new technologies, aiding farmers with new techniques and ensuring welfare of their cattle too. Today, with the help of state-of-the-art technologies, an enviable infrastructure, dedicated staff, a team of more than hundred seasoned and expert veterinary doctors and a strong distribution network, Govind is cited as an example of co-operative entrepreneurial success in the dairy farming sector. The new modern dairy plant of 600,000 litres processing capacity is yet another testimony to the sheer determination of all the beloved members of Govind family. It is aptly said, “The future you see is the future you get.”[2]
