The Green and Independent group (G&I) is a political and electoral alliance active within Braintree District Council in Essex, England.
Formed by the Green Party and various Independents, the group was assembled prior to the 2019 Braintree District Council election. The group's leader is James Abbott.[1]
Following the results of the 2019 election, the G&I group formed the official opposition to the Conservatives on Braintree District Council, winning 9 seats.[2]
On 30 January 2023, the G&I group released their initial list of candidates for the 2023 Braintree District Council election, including 21 Greens and 10 Independent candidates.[3]
