Gregoire Nitot (born 27 August 1976 in Paris) – a Polish businessman born and raised in France. He lived in Paris for 29 years. At the age of 29, he decided to start his own company in Poland. He is the founder, CEO, sole board member, and owner of 30% of the shares of Sii Poland.[1]
Life and career
He first visited Warsaw – Poland during his Erasmus Programme at the Warsaw School of Economics (Szkoła Główna Handlowa) in 2000. Polish culture, people, and Poland as a whole, won his heart. He fell in love with the country and saw his future there. He wanted to reach the stars![2] Therefore, after a couple of years living in France, he conceived the idea of starting an IT services company in Poland. With this idea and some savings, in 2005 he wrote a business plan. Determined to start his own business, Gregoire began his search for the perfect business partner and investor. That is how he chose Sii France – a solid, trustworthy company.[3]
His adventure began in January 2006 in a small 50 m2 flat in the city centre of the capital of Poland, Warsaw. The initial investment in the company was 100 K EURO of Nitot's own contribution and a 200 K EURO loan from Sii France.[4]
For the past 10 years, Gregoire has been revolutionizing the company's structures and processes. He does this by seizing opportunities, taking bold business steps, and understanding both clients' needs and the needs of the business environment. Each year he launches new investments, opens new practices and business units. [5] Thanks to past and future decisions, Sii Poland grew from a one-person start up to a company employing 2,500 experts and generating 380 M PLN (90 M EURO) in revenue.[6]
It is important for Gregoire to work in the best possible atmosphere, full of people with a great attitude and passion for their work. Therefore, the organizational structure is decentralized, flat, and client-focused. Accountable managers have the power to make major decisions! This saves time and allows products to reach the market quickly, with minimal bureaucracy. In making these decisions, managers are conscious of their responsibilities regarding the P&L.
Gregoire's implementation of necessary processes ensures the company's constant growth, so his work evolves each year! He is primarily responsible for the overall company strategy, including setting objectives, determining development directions, performance monitoring, overseeing the company's KPIs, and making key decisions. He is particularly responsible for major changes and investments.[7]
Nitot spends one-third of his time on HR activities.[8]
The company culture is strong, based on the mission "Power People – Identify & Promote our best employees", five strategic objectives, and 15 key values. Gregoire implemented all cultural aspects and pays close attention to their execution – ensuring each manager understands and implements them.[9]
Gregoire obtained polish citizenship in 2016.[10]
He is a family man, spending his free time with his Polish wife and three children. Nitot loves people, business, and sports – especially sailing, windsurfing, tennis, football, cycling, and backpacking. When tired of the city lights and pace of Warsaw, he escapes to his house in the Kaszuby region. He loves adrenaline and is always eager to push limits and explore the unknown.
