Griffin Matthews
Griffin Matthews (born December 25, 1981) is an American actor, writer, director, producer, and philanthropist.
Early Life[edit]
Matthews grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his mother, father, and two brothers[1]. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theater[2].
Career[edit]
Activism[edit]
Matthews visited Uganda in 2005. Upon returning to New York City, he started the Uganda Project, a non-profit, grassroots organization providing free education, housing, and mentoring to Ugandan students as well as ensuring their basic needs are being met. Matthews co-wrote and starred in the musical Witness Uganda, inspired by his own experience in the country and starting the nonprofit.
Personal Life[edit]
Matthews is married to writer, producer, and composer Matt Gould[3]. They are foster parents. The family resides in both Los Angeles and New York City.
