Groucho the Cigar Man is a comic strip released in 2024 starring a cigar-smoking caricature. Only 9 panels were released monthly in the syndication.[1]
Storyline[edit]
The comic follows a man who is in different locations. He skates, he proposes in a barn, he stands in the rain in Germany, he conducts an orchestra, he goes birdwatching, teaches class and tours a haunted house. Later, he is part of a Minstrel Show and then parodies Ebenezer Scrooge and the 1901 film.
Character[edit]
Groucho is based almost entirely on Groucho Marx, a comedian with a similar big black cigar, moustache and making wise cracks. Groucho wears a derby hat and a tie, is somewhat obese and is always silent. The strip is a vintage black and white.
