Growing Up! is an american sitcom, created by Simon Torres, which was aired on NBC for the first time on August 14, 2021. The show resolves around the life of a 12 year old boy called, SIMON TORRES who's has been through a lot in his life and he's finally going to live in a happy home with his aunt and uncle, CAMILO, and PAOLA. Along this new journey he meets RENATA GARCIA, the most popular girl in school, and MATHIAS UNDERWOOD the most shy kid in school. They live several adventures living their lives while Camilo and Paola will have to face all their problems.
This show was created in 2011 by Simon Torres when he started drawing pictures of tv shows he imagined. The original name was supposed to be "Friends" until he realized there was a show with that name already taken. The first draft was until in 2017 when he presented it to WARNER BROS, which declined the idea first but after Torres sent several scripts of the first season they changed their mine and gave it a green light.

Simon started writing season 1 on January 2018 and finished March 2021. He did several changes to the story until he was fully convinced about it.
Casting began until October 2019. Auditions lasted a month with over 180 kids auditioning for the parts. They hold auditions in the USA, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Canada since Torres wanted a diverse cast. Simon Torres the creator of the show was casted as the main character in October 8th, 2019. He posted on instagram his excitement to be a part of the cast since he created that character based on him and his adventures. Jacob Tremblay was cast as Mathias Underwood in November 17th, 2019. While Fernanda Gutierrez was cast as Renata Garcia in November 22nd, 2019. Ana de Armas was casted as Paola Mora which was in early talks to join this project since September. Last one to join was Manolo Cardona as Camilo Torres in december 2nd 2019.
Principal Photography began December 28th, 2019. And filming began January 10th, 2020. 12 episodes were filmed until March 2020 when the pandemic hit. The show was severally affected and it almost didn't air. That was when Simon Torres posted a tik tok showing how hard he worked on the show and it might be cancelled. Then a promo was dropped and it received good backlash and was positively acclaimed by the public.
Filming continued October 2020 and ended February 2021.
