Grup 14 is an organization and website dedicated to news, opinion, and information about Fútbol Club Barcelona, with the collaboration of a global support network. Grup14.com has interviews, articles, columns, opinion pieces, and more. Grup 14 launched on March 28, 2015.[1]Grup 14 has more than 60 members who manage everything from site design and programming to writing, translation, planning, and editing. The website is not commercial, and work done by its members is voluntary.[2]
Community Forum
Grup 14 launched its Community Forum on the 29th of March, one day after the website debut. The forum is a place where the Supporters of FC Barcelona can discuss different topics.[3]
Founding
The idea of Grup 14 started after discussions between FC Barcelona fans, who decided to start a website based on a platform dedicated to the improvement of FC Barcelona.[4]
Clan Sunyol
The intended name for Grup 14 was to be Clan Sunyol, in honor of the assassinated FC Barcelona president, Josep Sunyol. But the founders of Grup 14 had difficulties clearing use of the Sunyol name from the Sunyol Foundation. Grup 14 was chosen as the alternative name, in honor of FC Barcelona icons Josep Guardiola, Johan Cruyff, and Lionel Messi.[5]
