The Guggenheim Guadalajara was an art museum proposed by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. If constructed, the 24-story tower designed by architect Enrique Norten would have been scheduled to be completed in 2011, however it was canceled in October 2009.
The museum's construction was scheduled to start in 2007, but problems with the foundation delayed the start until 2008. When completed, due to its structure and the ecological materials used to build it, the museum would have been the most expensive Guggenheim constructed so far.[citation needed]

- The tower would have been 180 meters tall and would have had 24 levels and two basements.
- The tower would have had seven rapid-speed elevators.
- It would have been the first Guggenheim built in Latin America.
- The tower would have been able to support its structure in an earthquake of magnitude 8.0 on the Richter scale.
Project cancellation[edit]
In October 2009, the project was cancelled. The Guggenheim foundation stated that it wanted to complete the museum being built in Abu Dhabi, and concentrate on the museums already in operation.[1]
