Guido Alvarez Parga
Guido Álvarez Parga ( Lugo, September 16, 1985) is a tourismologist and university lecturer. A regular contributor to various media (mainly written press and radio), he is one of the founders of the social movement Coidemos Lugo . He was named one of the 10 People of the Year in Lugo, in 2020.
Biography[edit]
He was born in the neighbourhood O Carme in Lugo. At 18 he moved to La Coruña to study Tourism. He continued his training with various scholarships at the universities of Teramo ( Italy ), Santiago de Compostela , Jean Monnet ( Saint-Étienne , France ), Federico II ( Napoli , Italy ) and Stuttgart ( Germany ), which he combined with various professional experiences. In 2019 he launched his own professional project: Guido Guía.
In August 2020 he was one of the founders of Coidemos Lugo, a broad social movement that promotes environmental awareness and heritage care. A month later he joined the UNED ( National Distance Education University ) as a Tourism lecturer. Several months later he was named as one of the 10 People of the Year 2020 in Lugo, and also recognized shortly after as an honorary associate of the Asociación pola Defensa do Patrimonio Cultural Galego (The Association of the protection of Galician Cultural Heritage). He is also works closely with the media, contributing frequently to Galicia Confidencial , Lugo Xornal , Nós Diario , El Progreso de Lugo , La Voz de Galicia and Onda Cero .
