Guilherme Sanches Leão (born May 26, 1991) is an Brazilian model and DJ.
Early life[edit]
Leão was born in São Paulo. He is the son of a sales representative and a housewife.
As a teenager, his hobby was producing electro house music.
Career[edit]
Beginnings[edit]
In 2009, at the age of 18, Leão was chosen one of Capricho magazine's "Garotos Colírios". In 2010, he signed contract with a modelling agency and moved to Shanghai, China, staying in the city for the next year. Leao returned to Brazil in 2012, he modelled for fashion label Dafiti and became a security guard at Companhia do Metropolitano de São Paulo.
Rise to fame[edit]
In March 2014, Leão has been named the most good-looking security guard in a survey by Veja website, after two photos of him employed on the subway had become an internet meme.[1][2] He has since been dubbed the "Segurança Gato do Metrô/Brazil's Hottest Subway Guard".[3][4][5][6]
In 2017, Leão has signed with Closer Models agency. Previously, he was managed by Oca Models.[7]
In 2019, he became the face of the new masculine fragrance Full Speed Supersonic by Avon.
Television shows[edit]
Following his success in modelling, Leão accept the invitation by RecordTV to the reality show competition A Fazenda. On September 17, 2019, he was announced as one of the sixteen celebrity contestants to be competing on the eleventh season.[8] He finished in 9th place after 59 days/episodes.[9]
In 2020, he was in an episode of Mega Senha, Brazilian version of the game show Million Dollar Password.[10]
In 2021, he was selected as a Judge of the talent show Canta Comigo, shown on Netflix Brasil and RecordTV.[11]
