Gurpreet Singh Waraich (born November 25, 1993) known professionally as Gurpreet Waraich is an Indian Punjabi singer.[1] He rose to fame after the release of "Thar".
Early Life
Gurpreet Waraich was born on November 25, 1993, in a Jatt Sikh family at Village Jaurkian (near Mansa). Waraich completed his studies in Mansa.
Career
Waraich used to sing songs even while studying but didn't record any songs before. In an interview, he disclosed that he listened to old and classical Punjabi lyricists and poets like Shiv Kumar Batalvi, Bulle Shah, Muhammad Sadiq, Gurdas Mann, Kuldeep Manak, and many more. He got inspiration from them to sing. Born in a middle-class Jat Sikh family, his parents initially criticised his passion as an unrespected profession in society but still supported him. His career included 10 years of hard struggle. Finally, he achieved success in 2016–2017 when he sang songs like "Thar", “Belong To Pind”, and many more, achieving huge success. Nowadays, Waraich is known as one of the best Punjabi music singers. He has also sung "Baba Nanak", “Block Marta”, and “Dil Mera”. However, "Pound" is believed to be his most popular song, which he also sang. The song has been viewed lakhs of times on YouTube. He has also appeared in song videos. When asked about new projects, he said many more projects are on the way.
