Guy East
Guy East is a British film producer and sales agent, and the founder of Majestic Films International, InterMedia, and Spitfire Pictures.
Career
East attended the University of Exeter as a student of English and law.[2] In 1985, he became the British president of the American Film Marketing Association.[2] Three years later,[3] he started Majestic Films International, which handled the distribution of Dances with Wolves and Driving Miss Daisy among others.[2][3] East stayed at Majestic until 1995.[3]
In 1996, after selling Majestic,[4] he teamed up with Nigel Sinclair as founder and co-chairman of InterMedia.[2][3] The two men formed Spitfire Pictures in 2003 and joined the staff of a revived Hammer Films in 2007.[2] Both Spitfire and Hammer merged into Exclusive Media Group in 2008.[2]
