Guy Fox is a cartoon fox and the mascot for an educational charity based in London, England. The mission of Guy Fox is to help children learn about history and develop lifelong learning skills. He brings London's art, architecture and cultural heritage to life through cartoons, puzzles and games. He amuses, he entertains, and he educates.

"You can learn anything you want to!"
- Guy Fox

This philosophy inspires the work of the educational charity, Guy Fox History Project Limited.

Guy Fox History Project[edit]

The Guy Fox History Project was founded as a charitable trust in 2000. It delivers professionally facilitated workshops for children and enables them to produce educational resources, including books, magazines, songs, CDs and websites of their work. These resources are then distributed free to children in the boroughs of Southwark, The City of London and Tower Hamlets, as well as to a mailing list which is free of charge.

A complete list of projects delivered by Guy Fox can be found here [1]. Guy Fox History Project is based in the London Borough of Southwark. Many of their projects focus on London landmarks, Tower Bridge and Big Ben for example.

In 2004, the Guy Fox History Project won the Guardian Charity Award, which recognises the outstanding contribution that small charities (with an income of less than £1m) play in meeting social welfare needs in the community. The Guy Fox History Project was praised for "doing something totally different".[2]

The Guy Fox Social Enterprise[edit]

In 2005, the trustees of Guy Fox History Project put measures in place to achieve financial independence. The Guy Fox History Project trust was wound down and re-founded as a charitable company limited by guarantee, Guy Fox History Project Limited.

At the same time, the organisation founded a subsidiary trading company, Guy Fox Limited, which is a children's publishing company. Among its popular titles are the London Children's Map, the 'Create Your Own' London Map and children's maps of New York, Washington DC and San Francisco. Additionally, the company has designed family-friendly resources for London visitor attractions including Tower Bridge Exhibition, The Monument, HMS Belfast, Churchill Museum and HM Tower of London.
