The Guys in White are a group of fictional characters from the animated television series Danny Phantom. They are an organization dedicated to seeking and destroying all ghosts, among them Danny Phantom, whom they have classified as a highly dangerous "Level 7 Ectoplasmic Entity". They are most likely a parody of Men in Black.

Appearances[edit]

The organization has many agents, but only two of them have made more than one appearance. The leader of this organization was seen once, but his name was unrevealed. They are an obvious parody of the Men in Black. They don't have any respect for federal laws or public opinion and just care about destroying every single ghost just for preconception or paranoia with perfection, without care about the means (Even if means the destruction of all reality) or if it will hurt innocent people.

The GIW first appeared in the episode "The Million Dollar Ghost", where they were one among three groups of minor Ghost Hunters hired by Vlad Plasmius to capture the legendary Danny Phantom for the million dollars. In the end, the two failed to capture him.

They returned in "Reality Trip" where they questioned Freakshow on how he envies ghosts and the usage of the Reality Gauntlet. Freakshow tricked the GIW to try the gauntlet and ran off with it. In the train station, the agents hunted Freakshow, until he knocked them out. After the agents discovered that Danny Fenton is Danny Phantom, the two decided to arrest him, and take him to the agency for experiments. In addition to the two agents, GIW soldiers equipped with powered armor also went after Danny. The GIW tried to capture Danny, Sam and Tucker, but failed. By the end of the episode, Danny had the Reality Gauntlet, and used it to erase the memory of the GIW about Danny's identity, he also gave the two agents Freakshow to be put back in jail.

Later, in "Double Cross My Heart", the GIW returned. Early on, the agents took away Skulker's battlesuit and used it to track down Danny, helping them attack him first at Nasty Burger, then underwater in the Casper High swimming pool, and yet again, ironically, while he was spying on Gregor to find proof that he is with the GIW. Later, the GIW questioned Mr. Lancer about the local ghosts, leading them to the Fenton residence, where the agents "discovered" that Gregor is the ghost kid by virtue of having white hair, just like Danny. The two pursued and launched an attack on him, but were stopped by the real Danny with a warning to stay away from his friends. He then threw the two in mud, getting their suits dirty and infuriating their commissioner.

They later made brief cameos in " Eye for an Eye" trashing both Danny and Vlad's houses in search of ghostly contraband, and later reappearing to fight Danny Phantom. In "Livin' Large", they bought Fenton Works in order to destroy the Ghost Zone with a missile.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Guys in White are obvious parodies to the Men in Black and the movie of the same name. They are also probably a homage to S.H.I.E.L.D from Marvel Comics.
  • All of their attack strategies and equipment have the word "white", or some similar hue, in their title (White Fang, White Sidewinder, Great White Whale, Ivory Mist, etc...). Apparently, even the agents find the names somewhat weird, but, as one of the agents once put it, "I don't name this stuff".
  • The Guys in White soldiers from the episode "Reality Trip" have very similar armor especially their helmets to the Stormtroopers from the Star Wars trilogy.
